The Whiskey Rogues

The Whisky Rogues formed in June 2019 in a lounge room in Sunbury, and have retained the same lineup ever since. When you have the perfect mix, why change it? It’s a testament to their shared love of music, and playing together.

something special you only get when you mix three good people, created out of two sound engineers, one classically trained pianist, a self-taught guitarist and an electronics & bass nerd, roll them all together and sprinkle them with a lifelong fascination for finding and playing the best music the International Pop world has ever produced. Think Paul Kelly guitar riffs, swoon to the flair of Eurythmics, Nick Kershaw and Tears for Fears, soar with the luscious harmonies of Fleetwood Mac, throw in some soulful funky guitar-driven Jamiroquai, and after dancing to the beats and groove of Blondie, Rolling Stones and The Cars, set yourself for some disco ABBA singalong, and enjoy Australia’s home grown talent What a night!

Specialising in the low register, Boulton delivers a steady baseline while adding a subtle deep and resonant strength to the backing vocals. Alongside his smooth and structured bass playing, his technical skills as sound engineer are put to good effect, as he tweaks the mixer with precision within this collaboration.

You wont find a better vibe on the keys, or a more harmonious and dynamic female vocalist. Juli’s attitude matches her commitment, she is professional, engaging, stylish, and most of all - fun. Her sound makes music magic, knowing instinctively how it’s supposed to make you feel.

It’s unusual to find a front man with such integrity as Sylvan. He wields a Strat or a Les Paul with grace, and takes the lead, riffs or rhythm with equal confidence. Add to that a solid voice, with a soulful gravelly edge, and the wisdom to give the final nod to each song for the best possible arrangement and mix.

Speaks for itself. When you get a thanks like this it'd be rude not to do it again right?

...and so we did. Thanks again for the kind words Zoe

A big thankyou to the Whiskey Rogues for being a part of our Live and Local music program. You guys played a nice selection of great songs I haven't heard for a while. The hall came alive, people got to their feet and it was clear everyone was having a great night! Would love to have you guys back next year if the council is willing.

Had the pleasure of listening to them play at a presentation night. They were fantastic, their voices and repertoire of songs were outstanding. Highly recommend.
Great band, lovely people! Played at my "significant" birthday. Fun, good set choice, quality, reliable. Recommend highly.
